The Festival will be closed by a Paweł Pawlikowski’s work that won the 2015 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
«Ida» by Pawel Pawlikowski, a road-movie about a young catholic nun, will be the closing film of the Festival. «Ida» has beaten Andrey Zvyagintsev’s «Leviathan» at the 2015 Academy Awards competition.
«We have chosen «Ida» by Pawel Pawlikowski to close the Festival: it is a tender, delicate, and complex work about maturing and searching for answers that have to be continually rediscovered throughout one’s life. The Festival itself initiates a cultural exploration that takes the viewers beyond the themes of its program, and we would want our audience to continue that journey. That is why I thought it would be great to close the Festival by putting a kind of a conceptual comma,» comments Rusina Lekukh, program director of the Festival.
